Punk: Attitude DVD Examines 70s Punk Movement
. The film was directed by Don Letts, a legendary DJ and central figure on the London punk scene, and features rare performance footage of The Clash, The Sex Pistols, The Damned, The Ramones, Black Flag, and many others. The doc also includes then-and-now interviews with such subjects as Jello Biafra, Chrissy Hynde, Mick Jones, David Johansen, Wayne Kramer and Siouxsie Sioux. "With hindsight we are able to recognize [punk] as part of an ongoing movement of counterculture," filmmaker Letts explained in a press statement announcing the release. "It is in that spirit that I made this film, not as a nostalgic look back, but rather a way to move forward. After all, if it happened before, it can happen again." - Gibson.com is an official news provider for the Day in Rock. |
