The Wolfmother dates will kick off in Dallas, TX, on October 29th and come to a close on November 24th in Los Angeles, CA. The band will also be playing a few shows in their native states of Texas and Ohio prior to the tour.
Summer proved to be very busy, and quite successful for the Bastards. The band joined acts such as Jenny Lewis, The Decemberists, and The Avett Brothers on the road, establishing their readiness to take on any stage. They were quite well known on the festival scene as well, with rousing performances at this year's Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, All Points West, and Outside Lands Festivals.
Frontwoman, Erika Wennerstrom, has been joined by her fantastic new backing band on all of these tours -- members Dave Colvin (drums), Jesse Ebaugh (bass) and Mark Nathan (guitar) truly establish this band as one of the most powerful live acts working today. The Mountain has been well received since its release earlier this year. Details hailed that Wennerstrom is simply "unstoppable," while Rolling Stone praised the release, claiming that "Wennerstrom finds a softer side on her band's third album -- but still finds time to howl like a 'nads- free Robert Plant."
Not satisfied with rigorous touring and the release of the new record alone, Wennestrom also took some time to collaborate on a side project with Alex Maas of the Black Angels entitled Sweet Tea. The project is their unique collaborative take on classic country and includes their studio version of the June Carter and Johnny Cash duet "If I Were A Carpenter," and the Ray Price classic "Crazy Arms." The first single was released digitally last month, and the limited edition of the 7" vinyl hit stores on September 1st.
