19-year old star Jordin Sparks rose to fame in 2007 when she became the youngest contestant ever to win American Idol. She performed the national anthem to an audience of nearly 100 million viewers at Super Bowl XLII, and was named Favorite Adult Contemporary Artist at the American Music Awards. Her current sophomore album, Battlefield, is in stores now and features the title track as Sparks' latest single. Her previous release, Jordin Sparks, featured platinum-certified Top 10 single, "Tattoo," and smash hit single "No Air."
"Britney's show is incredible and for me to be a part of it is a great opportunity," said Sparks.
"The Circus Starring Britney Spears," a dazzling display of music, dance, magic and theatrics, kicked off in New Orleans on March 3 and is the highest grossing tour of 2009 in North America to date. With its cast of nearly 50 dancers, magicians, clowns and acrobats, and a traveling staff of over 200, the 50 million dollar extravaganza includes an unprecedented 60 tons of equipment in 34 trucks for what has already proven to be a sheer electrifying musical event. According to Reuters, "The pop star...pulled out all the stops before a sell-out crowd of 16,400 to launch her much anticipated world tour."
