"Iron Maiden: Flight 666" is a revealing portrait of one of the world's most successful rock bands in an entertaining and inspirational account of their chaotic lives during the infamous 45-day world tour, "Somewhere Back in Time." Considered to be the most ambitious and adventurous tour in rock history, Maiden journeys through 13 countries on their own "magic carpet," a customized Boeing 757 airliner carrying the entire tour, including stage, crew, and twelve tons of equipment to 23 sold out shows in Asia, Australia and North, Central, and South America.
The theatrical release of the film will be distributed and marketed D&E Entertainment, the leader in Theatrical Distribution and Marketing of Alternative Content. The amazing feature-length journey will be shown on over 450 HD digital screens, in 41 countries, for one day only on April 21 - Maiden Day.
The film won the "24 BEATS PER SECOND" award for best music documentary at the prestigious SXSW Film & Music Festival in Austin, Texas. This follows the band's recent win at the 2009 Brit Awards for Best British Live Act.
The Pre-Party will feature two other films, Anchor Bay's "Crowley," co-written by Iron Maiden's own Bruce Dickinson, and "Anvil! The Story of Anvil," the acclaimed documentary about the legendary Canadian metal band. A live Anvil performance will follow the film. "Iron Maiden:Flight 666" will be the feature film after Anvil's live set. Other live bands will perform throughout the night on the Second Stage.
The Atticus Pre-Party will be held at the Palladium. Admission is free with a weekend pass or $15 for non-ticket holders. Doors open at 6 p.m.
Tickets for the New England Metal and Hardcore Festival, which will take place on Friday, April 17 and Saturday, April 18, are $40 for Friday, $45 for Saturday or $79 for a 2-day ticket. Tickets are available at all Strawberries, FYE Stores, online at tickets.com or by calling (800) 477-6849.
