"Light On" debuted in the Top 10 on the Billboard Digital Songs charts and was the #1 most added song at Hot AC and is one of the fastest growing songs at the format.
Cook states "I am really stoked about this application. I think it gives a different dynamic to the single and it is much safer than practicing pyromania. Not to mention, you won't burn your thumb!"
The interactive "Light On" App turns an iPhone or iPod touch into a "virtual" lighter while playing Cook's single "Light On." Using the iPhone's unique technology, fans simply "flick" the iPhone or iPod touch and the flame goes out while the song fades out. The application also provides links to the iTunes Store to listen and buy Cook's new hit single or pre-order his upcoming album. Additionally the application allows the user to send a message to a friend and links directly to DavidCookOfficial.com, where users can connect with each other.
"Mobile applications that connect artists with their fans in an entirely new way are game changing," says Wade Beavers, CEO of DoApp Inc., the web and mobile innovation company SONY BMG worked with to create the application. "This fun application enables David Cook to connect with his fans and give them something more than digital downloads."
