The event will take place November 6 at the exclusive Esquire House Hollywood Hills, and will feature intimate performances by Dave Stewart and Colbie Caillat. Stewart will receive the prestigious "Legends in Songwriting" award recognizing his incredible career as a member and key songwriter of the Eurythmics with Annie Lennox, as well as his hit songwriting for artists such as Gwen Stefani, Celine Dion, Mick Jagger, Bon Jovi and many others.
Suzanne and Hans Zimmer will present Laura Ziskin with the "Suzanne and Hans Zimmer Icon" award recognizing her achievements as a film producer and recent success with the "Stand Up to Cancer" event. Emmy Award-winning Will.i.am will receive the "The Nokia Innovator in Music" award presented by Ron Fair, recognizing his success as a member of the Black Eyed Peas and as a successful writer and producer. Colbie Caillat will receive "The Martin Bandier Vanguard" award in recognition of her double platinum success. Randy Jackson of American Idol will MC part of the event.
"Cancer and other life-threatening diseases affect us all," said David Renzer, Songs of Hope event chair and Chairman/CEO of UMPG. "With this, our fifth Songs of Hope event, we expect the total funds raised to reach $1 million for cancer research, treatment and education programs to cat City of Hope. We are pleased to have the music publishing and entertainment community and Esquire support City of Hope's advanced research and treatment programs."
