Slashing Zeppelin and Split Rumors

(antiMusic) Slash spoke with BBC's Newsbeat about the rumored support slot on the Led Zeppelin reunion tour and also says that Velvet Revolver is not over, despite Scott Weiland's onstage proclamation last week that this was the band's last tour.

Slash on the rumor they will be opening a Led Zeppelin tour if that gets off the ground: "There's been a huge rumour going around about us opening for them and I think that was something that was taken out of context. ...I saw Robert last night and he's got his solo thing going on and as far as Velvet Revolver is concerned, we've got another record to do and we're not even thinking about that."

It was widely reported that Scott Weiland told fans at their Glasgow concert last Thursday night that were witnessing the "the last tour by Velvet Revolver." That proclaimation led to a war of words between Weiland and Matt Sorum (see Monday's Day in Rock). Newbeat says that it is something Slash doesn't seem comfortable discussing. He simply told them, "Well, lets put it this way - this is not Velvet Revolver's last tour." - He also discussed his upcoming solo project. Read the BBC report for that and more on the above rumors
