The former Ozzy Osbourne/Badlands guitarist was originally believed to only make a guest appearance on the album, but ended up playing lead guitar on all of the tracks that are believed to be on the final version of the effort.
On the guest appearance front, original Guns N' Roses drummer Steven Adler will appear on the album. Adler also joined the band onstage at Rocklahoma last weekend for a jam of the Beatles classic "Come Together" as well as "Knocking on Heaven's Door," Tracii Guns also jumped in on the latter. It is not know yet if Jake E. Lee will join Enuff Z'nuff on the road when they tour to support this effort. Frontman Donnie Vie recently returned to the band full time, he had quit touring with them seven years ago.
"Dissonance" promises to be one of the band's strongest efforts in a over a decade and like all Z'nuff releases takes the band into different territories musically. The addition of Jake E. Lee only adds a new layer to that evolution. While the album is loaded with melodic heavy rockers, the title track takes them into an almost industrial rock direction.
Fans can get a taste of the new album on Donnie Vie's MySpace page where he is featuring a rough mix of the song "Altered States". Ironically a few months back Donnie had told us his intention of recording an anti-Myspace anthem after going having to jump through various hoops to get back into his account. (a Myspace quickly remedied this after we ran that report). The song "Altered States" went in the opposite direction with lyrics about finding love on the social networking giant.
