The fresh musical movement known as Blue Turtle Seduction is a two-fold sonic experience. Both musically and socially aware, the five-piece rock / bluegrass / reggae / hip-hop hybrid creates music that defies classification. Their 2008 release, "13 Floors" was recently selected as one of the top 100 albums of 2008 at KTHX 100.1 radio. Nestled between legends such as Radiohead, Lucinda Williams and Joan Biaz, 2009 promises to be a big year for this South Lake Tahoe band.
Izabella is another California band to keep your eyes on. Their originals are dead solid with hooky lines and exultant, flowing music --- following in the Bay Area tradition of great forebears like the Sons of Champlin, Izabella is making national waves in a very short time.
The New Year's Eve show will begin at 10:00 PM and will feature drink specials on the Great Basin's award winning brews as well as a champagne toast at midnight. Fans are encouraged to dress in "retro-formal attire" and it is strongly suggested that attendees purchase tickets in advance, the show is expected to sell out.
