Los Angeles-based hard rock band My Ruin has set an August 19, 2008 US release date for its new album, Throat Full Of Heart, on the group's own imprint Rovena Recordings in association with Redeye USA/Cargo Records UK. Throat Full of Heart was released earlier this year in the UK and Europe and was co-produced by My Ruin guitarist Mick Murphy along with producer/engineer Duane Burda. The album was recorded at The Hobby Shop in Highland Park, CA, which was built by and is owned by producers Mudrock and Scott Gilman.
Throat Full Of Heart, to be released in digipak, includes My Ruin's first official DVD as well as two music videos for the tracks "Religiosity," created by Nasty & Sinister, and "Ready for Blood" which was directed by Ben LeVine who previously directed My Ruin's 2003 video for "Make To Measure" from the release The Horror Of Beauty while the band was on Century Media. The 2 hour DVD features bonus footage and a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the song "Ready for Blood." The disc will also include a mini-movie of the band with never-before-seen footage from the studio as well as a mini movie created by vocalist Tairrie B which documents her horrific car accident which took place on September 29, 2006 - from the injury to her recovery this past year.
Throat Full Of Heart features Chris Lisee, the band's bassist since 2005 and French drummer Matt LeChevalier who, despite having toured, recorded and filmed the band's "RFB'" video, was unable to stay in the US due to visa issues. My Ruin has recently recruited Los Angeles drummer J.D. Flores and is finalizing dates for their soon to be announced headlining tour in the UK that is scheduled for October 2008.
In the meantime My Ruin will be celebrating their U.S. album release with a special show at the Whisky A Go-Go in Hollywood, CA. on August 15, 2008 with guests SANGRE as well as a show The Jumping Turtle in San Marcos, Ca. Sept. 2,2008 with Into Eternity.
