(antiMusic) Are you ready to rock? Then rock legend Billy Morrison might just have the album you've been waiting for. Billy really doesn't need an introduction to rock fans, The Cult, Circus Diablo and Camp Freddy are just some of the bands he's been a part of. And then you have Stimulator, a band that Billy formed with Terry Warville and Jason Bowld from Pitchshifter back in 1998. They were ready to take on the world when the daring label that brought us such bands as Guns N' Rose and Nirvana quickly signing them up and sent them into the studio to record their debut album. But then that daring label was bought out and the new parent label had more of a play it safe attitude and decided that Stimulator rocked too hard for their taste. But now a decade later Billy is allowing fans to hear what they've been missing with the release of Stimulator.

When we heard about this album finally being released, we fired off an email to ask Billy to give us the lowdown on some of his favorite tracks. A few hours later he came through in a big way. So here is Billy to discuss his favorite tracks from Stimulator!

Monday's song - RUSH: This song was a very personal way for me to deal with a life that I once led. It is a true story about some of the things that happened to me when I lived on the streets of Downtown LA, and abused very dangerous drugs for quite some time. The feeling of wanting to cut your own throat, and not having the balls to do it, is one you never forget. By the time we had all finished with it, the song became one of my favourite tracks on the album, and because of the personal nature of the lyrics, one of my favourites to sing as well. References to "6th and Bonnie Brae" and "woke up to a one mm of silence and despair" still ring true today, ten years after this song was written.

Tuesday's song - DRIVING ME MAD: Another big chorus song, its about hanging out in clubs (one in particular in London called the Electric Ballroom) and seeing the same old faces doing the same old things that they have been doing for years.....not a lot really!! I found myself going to places and hating every minute because all these faces would be asking me the same thing every week. And then it dawned on me......dont go to the f***ing place anymore!! Easy. It's still very much the same thing these days - the names of the clubs change, but the same people sit in the same booths snorting the same cocaine and shagging the same chicks. A dead existence! And I love the lyrics in the chorus - "The freaks are running around my feet. I got no use for the people I meet. You're driving me mad - just leave me alone".... relate?

Wednesday's song - SWANDIVE: This one started at The Astoria in London, when I saw Chino from The Deftones do a backwards dive into the audience.....from the top of the PA stack!! That is a major move to pull off! So, inspired, I started writing and the track gradually turned into how I might have felt, falling from a tall building, with my life flashing before my eyes and what might go through my head just before I hit the ground. Its a great song, and a real fantasy trip from my point of view - obviously I have not ACTUALLY jumped off a building....but have thought about it many times.

Thursday's song - No. It isn't a song about Liv Tyler! Its an acronym for something (that will remain nameless!). The song is about prostitution and a couple of people that I knew a few years ago. Its a really sad, shallow life, and I was around the whole scene for a while, watching these girls lose their soul and their respect for a hit on the crack pipe. Its absolutely incredible what we, as human beings, will do when we are in need of something. I lived with one of these girls for about a year and the emotional turmoil that the situation created became the basis for this track, a few years later (once I had crawled my way out of my own pit!!) ..."you stand alone, and full of hate. you close your eyes to fornicate"....how the f**k did I get the word 'fornicate' to sit in a song like that?!!

Friday's song - NAILED: This is very easy song to explain. I think that everyone can identify with the feeling of having an argument with a loved one or a family member, or even a good friend, and just feeling like no matter what you say, you are being misunderstood. When no-one seems to be listening, when you are screaming at each other in a violent, destructive way and getting absolutely nowhere.....thats what this song is about. I love the way the track's chord structure is really simple, and the samples we used drive the song into a very emotional place. One of my favorites.

The CD is out now digitally on iTunes and limited edition hard copy CD is available exclusively from - www.billymorrison.net
