(antiMusic) Scott Weiland was only half right when he told a concert crowd last month that they were witnessing the final Velvet Revolver tour. It turns out that they were witnessing HIS final Velvet Revolver tour as the band gave the difficult frontman the boot.

Velvet Revolver (Slash, Duff McKagan, Matt Sorum and Dave Kushner) plan to carry on without Weiland who is heading out on tour this year with his old band Stone Temple Pilots. "This band is all about its fans and its music and Scott Weiland isn't 100% committed to either," Slash said in a statement issued on Tuesday. "Among other things, his increasingly erratic onstage behavior and personal problems have forced us to move on."

Slash has been very vocal of late, he not only has spoken publicly about Velvet Revolver's future plans but he also took time out to slam emo music and the lack of true lead guitarists today. "It's sad. There's no identifiable guitar players in rock 'n' roll any more. With the exception of (White Stripes star) Jack White - who is great - the new breed of bands aren't bringing out decent guitarists," Slash said in a recent interview according to hiphop-elements.com. "Rock 'n' roll is so diluted in this millennium, you just don't hear good solos. And I hate emo (mainstream soft-core punk)."

Velvet Revolver will carry on. "There will be a third album," Slash told the Daily Star. "We don't know how or when but the core four guys will continue."
