Oh, but he did receive a stern warning that he COULD face jail over his habitual drug offences which at this point is starting to sound like chicken little. The BBC reports that "In July, the 28-year-old Babyshambles frontman pleaded guilty to driving illegally while in possession of crack cocaine, heroin, ketamine and cannabis."
So Pete checked himself into a "detox program" and now the judge hearing his case has decided to adjourn the case for a month so he can "assess his (Doherty's) motivation," as if his habitual drug arrests don't say enough. If ol' Pete can convince the judge that he is sincere this time he may get off but if he doesn't he may finally, at last, go to jail. "What I have in mind is a community order or prison... if he does not show his motivation, it's prison - it's as simple as that," said District Judge Davinder Lachlar when ordering the adjournment of the case according to the BBC.
The occasional rock star was released on conditional bail until his pre-sentence hearing on September 4th.
