The show, which followed multi-platinum rock band INXS on its quest to find a new vocalist, wrapped on September 20th with Fortune landing the gig of a lifetime. Fifteen million worldwide viewers tuned in to watch the suspenseful finale, but none of them saw the electrifying concert that took place off-air. Rock Star: INXS The DVD captures that performance, which includes stunning renditions of INXS hits "Suicide Blonde," "Need You Tonight," "Never Tear Us Apart," "Don't Change" and new hit single "Pretty Vegas."
Rock Star: INXS The DVD also showcases performances by the show's most popular contestants, including Jordis Unga, who offers her stunning take on Nirvana's "Heart Shaped Box" and John Lennon's "Imagine," along with a show-stopping rendition of David Bowie's "The Man Who Sold The World." Fan favorite Marty Casey shows his range with an acoustic interpretation of Britney Spears' "Baby One More Time" and an epic cover of Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here." Additional highlights include Suzie McNeil's searing rendition of Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody," Mig Ayesa's fevered take on Paul McCartney's "Live and Let Die" and Ty Taylor's moving covers of the R.E.M. smash "Everybody Hurts" and "Bob Marley's "No Woman, No Cry." As an added plus, the disc spotlights three of Fortune's finest moments: scintillating covers of the Mamas and the Papas' "California Dreamin,'" The Box Tops' "The Letter" and Pink Floyd's "Money."
Bonus features include casting interviews, a backstage tour of the show and a VIP party at the "Rock Star" mansion, during which the contestants partied alongside Hollywood stars Matthew Perry, Ray Liotta and Hank Azaria, among others. Candid clips include Jordis talking about dedicating "The Man Who Sold the World" to a lost friend and the rockers arriving at the mansion for the very first time. Also included is a "Too Hot For TV" segment, which includes, among other things, Fortune's butt-naked birthday celebration.
