The RIAA list was updated last week and indicates collective album sales for artists in the U.S. Of course, The Beatles topped the list with combined unit sales of 168.5 million in the US. Elvis was a distant second with 116.5 million with Led Zeppelin rounding out the Top 3 with 107.5 million albums sold in the US.
Garth Brooks made a strong showing at No 4, beating out the Eagles who landed at No. 5. Piano man Billy Joel has moved a cool 78.5 million albums for 6th place with Pink Floyd coming in with 73.5 sales which was good enough to beat Barbara Streisand by 3.5 million albums (there is hope for the world after all).
Elton John came down at No. 9 with 69 million albums sold and AC/DC closed out the Top 10 with album sales of 66.6 million. (ok we added the .6 for effect, it should read 66.0).
