The singer/songwriter, real name Steven Paul Smith, died October 21 at the USC Medical Center after his girlfriend found him wounded in his Los Angeles apartment. 

Many believed at the time that Smith took his own life. Last Tuesday, the coroner�s office released the findings of their investigation and they found that the cause of death was inconclusive. 

"Despite a comprehensive and ongoing inquiry into the death by the LAPD detectives and coroner investigators together with a thorough examination by the coroner's pathologist, the mode of death remains 'Undetermined' due to incomplete knowledge of the circumstances surrounding the death," the coroner said in a statement.

The LAPD plan to continue investigating the cause of the singer�s death.
