It also looks like the band will not be doing their planned European tour with Staind, which was set to kick off in late August. No official confirmation about a European cancellation has been made yet but is expected shortly.
The band would have joined these tours in support of their new album, Year of the Spider, which was released in May.
Update: Cold Drops Lollapalooza for Evanescence.
It now seems clear why Cold decided to
drop out of Lollapalooza, a tour plagued with sluggish ticket sales in
some markets. The band now plans to team up with chart topping Evanescence
for a late summer tour.
The Nintendo Fusion Tour, will feature
Evanescence, Cold, Revis, Cauterize and Finger Eleven as well as gaming
centers featuring Nintendo games.
"We're really looking forward to doing this tour," Evanescence frontwoman Amy Lee says in a statement. "When we're on the road, we play music all night and Nintendo all day. This tour lets us bring two of our favorite things together."
Dates have yet to be released for the tour but there are reports that it will kick off on August 4th in Los Angeles, with tickets for select dates going on sale this Sat (6/28).
