Ahhh, the time old struggle between lyrics that rock & music that sucks, when will this dichotomy end? Mothers, Inc is a coupla mamas with a funny presentation of serious subjects. No one would dare suggest that constipation, the danger of ruining a breastfed baby's ability to latch on correctly by introducing bottle feeding, or the stupidity of cosmetic surgery were topics to be trifled with. Yet these moms skillfully weave important instruction & advice & questions on these & other weighty ideas into hilarious songs. The tragedy comes in their poor, abysmally
horrible choice of music to set as background for their lyrical discourses.
Ugh, too bad antiMusic doesn't have a "Partially Crap" series: the lyrics
are good enough to recommend this CD, but the music is worse than anything
Britney ever could have done, nightmarish disco or dance music or something
like that; whatever it is, might cause health problems if not taken in
moderation. So if you buy this CD, (almost worth it to support something
so un PETA approved, with the chicks rolling about in warm fuzzy fur blankets.
Even better, this CD was sponsored by some big, fancy, warm fuzzy fur loving
designer!) be sure you only listen to one song a day. Or better yet, buy
software that lets you isolate the singing, & play it over the top
of your fave rock CD. Since necessity is the mother of invention, I'm sure
these mamas will view it as professional courtesy.
