Phil Collins: Going Home On DVD and Blu-Ray |
Sometimes, to know where you're going, you need to remember where you've been. Multi-faceted musician/vocalist Phil Collins put this statement into action when he took the stage this past June to perform an array of classic hits.
On this hot summer night at New York's famed Roseland Ballroom, Phil Collins treats the packed house to a revue of his favorite soul and Motown tunes. On this two-hour plus set of over 25 songs, "backed by a killer 18-piece bandCollins got most everybody in the Roseland ballroom dancing," states Rolling Stone Magazine. Faithfully recreating the songs he cherishes, like "Dancing In The Street," "Papa Was A Rollin' Stone," and "My Girl" he honored the music with authenticity. Bassist Bob Babbitt, and guitarists Eddie Willis and Ray Monette, of Motown's original backing band The Funk Brothers, along with two members of Genesis' live band, drummer Chester Thompson and guitarist Darryl Stuermer, also contribute to Collin's musical celebration.

Lynch and Dokken Feud An Illusion |
"The Don-George conflict is really a fallacy and a created illusion," Lynch told Guitar International. "We're absolutely fine. We had had business disagreements for sure but, what band or business partners don't? We've been fine for years. It's all been blown way out of proportion over the years and it's an old tired story."
Lynch joined Dokken in 1980 and served as the band's guitarist through 1989, before returning to the metal band from 1994-99. When he's not been a member of Dokken, Lynch has toured and recorded as the only permanent member of Lynch Mob.

Post School of Rock Venture |
Paul Green wants to save rock & roll. Again. When Green, the founder of the School of Rock, began giving lessons in his living room in 1996, most music instruction was a solitary pursuit relegated to the back of the guitar shop. Today, because of his influence, group/performance-based instruction is the standard. In the intervening years, Green has served as inspiration for a feature film ('School of Rock'), a documentary ('Rock School'), a magazine, several School of Rock tours and more.
Studio House is Green's most audacious endeavor yet. He has long believed that the best music - his favorite music - was created in communal environments free of deadline, budgetary, or industry pressures. Green has created such an environment with Studio House, a facility where established and developing artists can record free of charge while students observe and contribute to the process.
