Em Studio Owner Murder
AP reports: The owner of the studio where hip-hop megastar Eminem recorded the multimillion-selling CD, "The Slim Shady LP," was found shot to death Tuesday inside the facility, police said. 

Investigators had not determined a motive in the slaying of Amjed A. (A.J.) Abdallah, said Detective Lt. Norman Raymond. 

A business associate of Abdallah found the 36-year-old native of Jordan on the floor of Studio 8, Raymond said. He said police recovered three bullet casings from a .357-caliber revolver and determined that Abdallah had been shot twice. [see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story 
 

Metal Rape Update
Blabbermouth reports: SATYRICON guitarists Steinar Gundersen and Arnt Gronbech, who are charged with giving a fan a date-rape drug and sexually assaulting her in a tour bus following a Dec. 15 concert in Toronto, have been released from Canadian jail on bail of CAD $50,000 each (approx. $41,000).

Ozzy Box Changes
Blabbermouth reports: OZZY OSBOURNE's upcoming box set has undergone a name change to "Prince of Darkness" from the previously announced "Bible of Ozz". Hendrix Bio Without Music?
Blabbermouth reports: According to ContactMusic.com, OUTKAST star Andre 3000's dreams of bringing Jimi Hendrix's life story to the big screen have been dealt a bitter blow � the rock great's estate won't allow his music to be used in the film.

"In the upcoming year we will first and foremost work on material for the next album, plus playing a very few exclusively selected festival dates during summer, which will be advertised here later as soon they're confirmed. 

"In the meantime some of us will be working on other projects as well, while Shagrath [vocals] and Silenoz [guitar] most likely also will re-record the 2nd album, 'Stormblåst' [originally released in 1996 via Cacophonous Records], sometime in 2005. Soul Sirkus Drop Tour Due to Illness
Blabbermouth reports: SOUL SIRKUS, the new "supergroup" formed by singer Jeff Scott Soto (YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, TALISMAN, AXEL RUDI PELL, TAKARA, HUMAN CLAY), guitarist Neal Schon and drummer Deen Castronovo (both of JOURNEY) and bassist Marco Mendoza (THIN LIZZY, WHITESNAKE, TED NUGENT), have cancelled all previously announced tour dates after Castronovo was diagnosed with dehydration and exhaustion, according to a posting on the group's web site. Sign On San Diego reports: When Motley Crue's Vince Neil wished bandmate Tommy Lee a happy New Year live on NBC, he couldn't resist inserting a profanity � and now the FCC is involved.

Eminem Vs Mag
MTV reports: Eminem and The Source magazine will finally get to settle their beef ... at least in court, that is. 

On Monday, New York federal court judge Gerald E. Lynch ruled that Slim Shady's copyright-infringement lawsuit against the hip-hop publication would go to trial. 

The trial is the latest development in the ongoing war of words between Em and The Source owners Ray Benzino and Dave Mays. The suit itself stems from the magazine's release of excerpts of two of Eminem's early recordings where the rapper can be heard making offensive comments about black women. liveDaily reports: Elvis Costello issued two new albums and toured extensively in 2004, and the veteran singer/songwriter looks to be headed for an equally busy 2005.

U2, Coldplay And Darkness Tsunami Benefit
Xfm reports: Chiefs at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff are attempting to organise a concert to raise money for victims of the Asian tsunami, with U2, Coldplay, Franz Ferdinand and The Darkness all rumoured to appear.

Adrian Belew To Release 'Side One'
press release reports: Vocalist/guitarist Adrian Belew is one of rock's true renaissance men. The incredibly prolific musician will release his latest solo record, 'Side One,' on January 25, 2005, through Sanctuary Records. 

'Side One' is Belew's conscious attempt to work in a "power trio" format for the first time, and he recruited two powerhouses in their own right to join him: Primus bass guitarist Les Claypool and Tool drummer Danny Carey. It's the first of three musically distinct album scheduled for release over the next year.
