Idol
Arrest |
AP reports: "American Idol" finalist Scott
Savol was once arrested after a confrontation with his son's mother - but
it won't cost the singer his shot at stardom.
Although several past contestants have
been booted for not disclosing arrests, Savol was "forthcoming to the `American
Idol' producers and the network regarding his misdemeanor" and "the situation
did not warrant his disqualification," Fox said in a statement Thursday.
Ohio police documents posted on The Smoking
Gun Web site said Savol, now 28, had a confrontation with Michele Martin
in February 2001. [see full story for more]- Click

Anthrax
Update |
KNAC reports: TRUTH BE TOLD: WE ALREADY KNEW.
The rumors had been flung all over the internet like so much bulls*** and
this press conference was little more than a formality. Yeah, the "classic"
line-up of Anthrax is back together and they're going to tour and they're
going to put out a live DVD and maybe a live CD and they'll keep touring
until they implode or who knows what. No, they're not on OZZfest 2005,
which is a bummer. What else? Not one of them has gotten fat or looks that
much different than they did about 21 years ago. So- that's it, really.
Scott Ian, Dan Spitz, Joey Belladonna, Frank Bello and Charlie Benante
are back together to bring the noise, as it were.[see full story for more]-

Joplin
Reality TV |
Reuters reports: Sam Andrew will soon embark
on what mildly might be called a challenging task: to replace his rock
band's long-dead singer -- Janis Joplin.
This time around, his band's recruitment
may not involve seduction, wild sex, drinking and drugs as, according to
legend, happened with Joplin's induction and adventures with Big Brother
and the Holding Company.
Rather, if the aging San Francisco-area
rockers have their way, the 21st century auditions to replace a 1960s icon
will become a television reality show called "Search for the Pearl," a
reference to Joplin's nickname. [see full story for more]-

Turns 7 |
antiMusic reports: On April 4, 1998 Rocknworld.com,
the first site on what would become the antiMusic network was born. The
idea was to provide a cool interactive music site that featured not only
big name artists but also showcased underrated and cool indie artists.
As you can see it's grown quite a bit beyond that early vision and on behalf
of everyone here I'd like to extend a big thanks to you the readers for
helping making that vision come true and continue to grow. But we also
owe a huge thanks to all of our writers past and present because without
them, there wouldn't be an antiMusic as we know it. Each contributor has
brought a unique perspective to the sites and provided us all with a rather
eclectic take on the music scene over the past 7 years. It's been a wild
ride, here is to the ride continuing with your help! -
