Parents
Vs MTV |
FMQB reports: The Parents Television Council
(PTC) has once again aimed its sights on MTV, calling out its top advertisers
in a report entitled "Top Ten Sponsors Of MTV Sleaze." The PTC is asking
the companies to defend their reasons for advertising on the hugely popular
cable network. "These companies are directly responsible for the raunchy
programming poisoning the minds of impressionable children. We are calling
on these sponsors to explain why they choose to support a network that
contains substantially more sex, foul language and violence than any broadcast
television program aimed at adults. These companies must be held accountable
for underwriting this material," said PTC President L. Brent Bozell.[see

Rahab Order |
Contact Music reports: WHITNEY HOUSTON has
little choice about her latest trip to a rehabilitation clinic - she was
taken there on a court order.
The troubled singer, married to BOBBY BROWN,
had showed signs of finally overcoming her drug battles in recent months,
so fans were shocked when they learned the star had been checked into a
rehab centre on 23 March (05).
But a spokesperson for Georgia's Fulton
County Sheriff's Office says Houston was whisked off to a clinic because
they received an order from the county probate court to apprehend the star.

Derrick
Plourde RIP |
antiMusic reports: Derrick Plourde, one of
the most respected musicians in the modern punk scene committed suicide
on Wednesday (March 30).
Over the past decade and half Plourde amassed
an impressive resume. He first caught the attention of the pop-punk underground
in the Goleta/ Santa Barbara scene in the early 90s in the band Lagwagon.
That recognition expanded outside of the Southern California scene in 1992
with the release of Lagwagon's debut "Duh" (the first release from Fat
Wreck Chords) and the two follow-up albums "Trashed" and Hoss. Although
he left Lagwagon after the release of "Hoss" Plourde later teamed up with
guitarist/vocalist Joey Cape in Bad Astronauts. [see full story for more]-

more news about the record, as singer Julian Casablancas said, "It will
be better than the last one. We'd like for it to sound a little more professional

Gov. Romney and Attorney General Tom Reilly's recent ban on out-of-state
gay couples traveling to Massachusetts to marry, Durst reportedly married
Limp Bizkit guitarist Wes Borland in a private ceremony in Worcester. An
unreliable witness to the ceremony said that Durst explained the marriage
as having two purposes; to protest the governor's move against gay marriage
which was legalized by a recent Supreme Judicial Court decision and also
because now that he has Borland back in his life he does not want to chance
losing him again. [see full story for more]- Click

naming radio shock jock Howard Stern and political activist/former Democratic

Committee. A high ranking administration official told the Beltway Insider
Hotline that Bush was considering the move as a way to quiet criticism
that the FCC under his watch has been too vigilant in policing the airwaves.

ELP
DVD |
Noble PR reports: Between 1970 and 1978, Emerson
Lake and Palmer were one of the most exciting rock bands on the planet.
From their stunning start at the Isle of Wight Festival, they were never
afraid to tear up the rule book and take risks, both on stage and on record.
On 13th June 2005, Sanctuary Visual Entertainment will release "Beyond
The Beginning" ELP's definitive 2-disc DVD collection of legendary performances,
rare and previously unreleased material.
A year in the making, this stunning 2-disc
set pulls together the great moments from one of the 70's most successful
and exciting bands. For most of this decade, this dynamic trio pushed back
the boundaries of what was possible in rock. Ambitious musical projects,
massive, over the top stage shows and an insatiable desire to try bigger
and better things meant that it could not last, but for several years,
this was 70's rock at its very best.[see full story for more]-
