Phil Spector Indicted
antiMUSIC reports: "Wall of Sound" rock
producer Phil Spector was indicted by a Los Angeles grand jury last week
for the murder of actress Lana Clarkson. The sealed indicted was opened
on Monday when Spector went to court to enter a not guilty plea to the
charge.
Spector wasted no time after entering his plea to attack the prosecutor, Los Angeles County District Attorney Steve Cooley, and his decision to have the indictment handed down by a grand jury instead of holding a preliminary hearing. Spector told reporters outside the courthouse, "The actions of the Hitler-like district attorney and his storm trooper henchmen are reprehensible, unconscionable and despicable."
The 53-year-old record producer said that he deserved a preliminary hearing similar to the one Los Angeles Lakers' Kobe Bryant was afforded in Colorado where a public hearing of the evidence against him would be held before a judge would decide if there was enough evidence to proceed with a trial. Ringo Vs Royals
ArrowFM reports: Former Beatle drummer
Ringo Starr recently called the 3.6 million pound Hyde Park memorial to
Princess Diana "a lot of crap." The fountain opened for the public in July
this year and was soon closed after some visitors slipped and hurt themselves.
"I've had enough of the Royal Family. 'Bout time they went on holiday and
stayed there. Let's see them do something good for Britain. Build a hospital.
And that Diana memorial? It's such a lot of crap. She deserved more than
that, in my opinion," Starr was quoted by Newsweek as saying. [see full

Senate Ponders P2P Bill
Reuters reports: After weeks of negotiations,
the U.S. Senate could take action this week on a bill that would make it
easier to sue "peer-to-peer" networks like Kazaa and LimeWire that allow
users to copy music and movies over the Internet.
The bill would give a boost to recording companies and movie studios, which so far have been unable to shut down the online file-trading networks in court.
But it must overcome fierce opposition from copyright activists and technology companies, which worry that makers of iPods and photocopiers could be held liable as well. [see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story
