Paris Booed Off Stage
DiS reports: This is too funny to ignore.
Deep-throated, skinny-as-a-rake, terrible farmer, hotel heiress, socialite
Paris Hilton has reportedly started a pop career, yet it didn't start too
well...
Paris Hilton was booed off stage as she tried to launch a pop career in Miami lastnight. Clubbers stood (we'd imagine some hipsters stood jaws agasp, and some greasy old men shuffling sweatily in the corner in trenchcoats) to watch Paris, 23, scream "I hate techno" then reportedly lip-synch through her first single 'Screwed' (we wish we were making this up!).
The amassed, then heckled and turned their backs when she attempted a cover version of Bowie's 'Fame' and apparently something by Blondie too. [see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story
Pink Floyd Reunion?
Pollstar reports: British music magazine
Q said in its October issue that there's another band that's ready to follow
The Pixies' return to the stage: the classic lineup of Pink Floyd. So far
though, a rumor is all there is to the story.
Q is the only print source that's even hinting at something in the air. According to the magazine, Floyd, with bassist/lyricist Roger Waters, will play a "series of lucrative shows next year."
This isn't the first time Pollstar has heard rumblings of Floyd's return but in the past, the rumors all went south. During the last go-around, one reliable source told Pollstar it was false, adding one that Gilmour "didn't need any more houses." This time, the same source laughed out loud before putting the kibosh on the report. [see full story for a lot more.]- Click Here for the Full Story

Dylan Nobel Prize Debate
AP reports: How many roads must a man
walk down, before you call him a ... Nobel Prize-winning songwriter? It's
a question being asked increasingly in literary circles, as the annual
debate over who should win the Nobel Prize in literature to be announced
Thursday tosses out a familiar, but surprising, candidate: Bob Dylan.
