Retracts Axl Quote |
Blabbermouth reports: Former GUNS N' ROSES
bassist Duff McKagan (currently in VELVET REVOLVER) has "officially" retracted
a statement attributed to him in a Lousiana newspaper which quoted him
as saying that GN'R frontman Axl Rose never wrote any of the music for
the band.
In a posting to VelvetRevolverForum.com
dated Nov. 8, McKagan wrote, "To all concerned: I will now officially retract
a statement made in an interview for the VoodooFest in New Orleans a couple
of weeks ago. To paraphrase, I was quoted as saying that Axl wrote none
of the music for GUNS N' ROSES (supposedly in the time that I was in the
band). This was an ABSOLUTE misquote and I do believe that my past record
in doing interviews period, would show me saying something like this as
a serious deviation from my normal responses to 'GUNS' quetions. [see full

Weller Hospitalized |
Pitchfork reports: According to his official
website, erstwhile Jam/Style Council frontman Paul Weller is currently
in the hospital being treated for "chronic tonsilitis and Quinsy (Peritonsillar
abscess)." Weller was admitted this past weekend after battling throat
problems the previous week. A post from Saturday offered a description
of the influential frontman's medical condition, and noted the cancellation
of a string of upcoming live shows. "He was unable to speak and his face
and neck were severely swollen. This means due to his type of illness,
which is obviously affecting his throat, he is unable to continue with

Marko
Post Crown Plans |
Metal Blade reports: Hi dudes!!! Marko here.
I just wanted to inform you that I am working on a "new thing". I have
completed material for a full-length album. If The Crown's music was more
about high energy, speed and aggression this album is more about heaviness,
fat riffing, and melodies with a touch of melancholy. Somewhere in the
sounds of Bow To None, Dead Man's Song, World Below, Death By My Side,
Black Lightning, In Memoriam... I guess you know where I'm going with this...
The big difference is though, no Death Metal vocals. I got a very cool
thing going on here...well, more details later...[see full story for more]-

Chord Still Seek Drummer |
Metal Blade reports: THE RED CHORD Update
from Guy: We have been busy writing and trying people out for drums. We
have had a few options of having people fill in for the record, but we
all decided that it would be a better idea if the band searched a bit more
for the drummer that will be a part of The Red Chord. We don't want to
be held back from touring after or even before the record comes out. We
want to be able to tour as soon as possible right after the record is recorded.
Stay tuned... [see full story for more]- Click
