Kill Bush Rappers Bust
BBC reports: A Norwegian rap group that criticised US President George W Bush by setting up a website whose name means "Kill him now" is in trouble with US authorities. 

Washington's embassy in Oslo has reported hip-hop artists Gatas Parlament to the police, accusing them of threatening the president. 

Their website argued for shooting the US president and urged readers to pay money towards a bounty on his head. 

Gatas Parlament, or Street Parliament, has defended the exercise as a satire.

Elton's Spinal Tap Sitcom
Guardian reports: Sir Elton John is to contribute to a television sitcom about an ageing rock star billed as an "upmarket Spinal Tap". 

The comedy will feature a male diva in a role that has distinct echoes of the singer's life. But Sir Elton, 57, has insisted that the character was based on a mix of fellow stars, such as Rod Stewart, Mick Jagger, Freddie Mercury and David Bowie.

Blink Wedding
MuchMusic reports: Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker got hitched on Halloween eve in Santa Barbara. Barker and his bride, former Miss USA Shanna Moakler, exchanged vows at a red-and-black-themed ceremony inspired by their favourite film, The Nightmare Before Christmas. Hagar Denies Van Split
Blabbermouth reports: VAN HALEN frontman Sammy Hagar has rejected Internet rumors that he is about to leave the band and re-focus all his time and effort on his solo career. Writing to his official web site, Sammy said, "Listen here, all these crazy rumors flying around cyberspace are that. Plain and simple, I never said I was quitting VAN HALEN. There has been no discussion as to when or where we're going to pick this show up on the road and do it all over again cause quite honestly, 80 shows since June 11. Wow, I'm bushed ...HA!

Folds Honors Elliott Smith
NME reports: BEN FOLDS has recorded a tribute to ELLIOTT SMITH which is set to appear on his forthcoming album. 

Smith toured with Folds in 1998 when he fronted the Ben Folds Five. 

"I was playing all the same s***holes he was," Folds told Rolling Stone. "The lyrics of the song are about people who are sharing your experience too - 'Oh, Elliott Smith did this club last night, and he sat in that same room and read all the s*** about dicks and asses on the wall.' Poets like to talk about how they look up and see the same stars, and I think rock musicians all look up and see the same dicks on the walls." The Cure In Rome
NME reports: THE CURE have been confirmed for free live show 'MTV AT THE COLISEUM' in ROME later this month. 

The event takes place next to Rome's ancient amphitheatre and runs simultaneously with the MTV Europe Music Awards on November 18.

Nickelback DVD
Chart Attack reports: The holiday season is approaching fast, and this year, it comes with a large influx of music DVDs. Vancouver super-rockers Nickelback are getting in on the action and will be releasing a DVD of their own on November 30, simply titled The Videos. 

In addition to all the videos the band have made since releasing their major label debut, The State, the disc will also include The Making Of The Long Road, a diary of the band's studio antics during the production of their most recent album. Jacko DA Stays Put
Reuters reports: A California judge on Thursday rejected a bid by Michael Jackson's lawyers to remove the district attorney from the pop star's child-molestation case, saying that there was no proof the prosecutor had acted improperly or overzealously. 

Santa Barbara Superior Court Judge Rodney Melville ruled during a pretrial hearing in the central California city of Santa Maria that Jackson's lawyers had failed to prove a conflict of interest or bias on the part of District Attorney Tom Sneddon. AP reports: Yoko Ono isn't known for her voice, but it's still a hot commodity. The famously off-key singer and wife of John Lennon has the No. 1 single on the dance chart.

McLusky Gear Theft
Aversion reports: In what's becomming a crime growing more quickly than identity theft, McLusky became the latest touring band to lose its gear to thieves. 

The band was in the midst of an American tour to support its latest, The Difference Between Me and You Is That I'm Not on Fire (2004, Too Pure) (click the full story link to read Aversion's review) in Phoenix, when thieves hit its van and took everything late Tuesday night.

Queensryche Mindcrime II Tour
liveDaily reports: Prog-rock outfit Queensryche plans to spend early 2005 putting the finishing touches on its follow-up 1988's "Operation Mindcrime," but not before previewing some of the new material during a round of winter concerts. 

Billed as "An Evening with Queesryche," the shows will be split into two halves. The set list for act one features hits culled from throughout the group's career, while act two will find the band performing "Operation: Mindcrime" in its entirety for the first time since the early '90s.

BB King of the Road
liveDaily reports: Blues legend B.B. King continues to call the road his home in the coming months, with an itinerary that will take him to about 40 U.S. cities by the end of January. 

Though he's less than a year away from his 80th birthday, King continues to play well over 100 concerts per year. During his 60-plus-year recording career, King--who was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987--has released more than 50 albums.

Xfm reports: Record company bosses at Eminem's label Interscope have brought forward the release of the star's new album 'Encore' to counter the damage sustained from early internet pirate copies. 

Eminem's new album 'Encore' will now be released on Friday November 12 instead of Monday November 15 to limit internet piracy and bootlegging. Xfm reports: Following the untimely death of the legendary broadcaster John Peel, his family have confirmed a date for the funeral and that the ceremony will be a public affair. 

It has been announced today that the funeral for the late John Peel is to be held next Friday (November 12) and will be open to the public. Thousands of music fans are expected to attend to pay their final respects to the legendary DJ.
