Injury Hyped |
Xfm reports: The Sunday Mirror newspaper yesterday
(October 31) claimed that Hawkins was involved in a drunken fight with
a mystery attacker in London, and, after being punched in the face, stumbled
into a stained glass window severing the tendons in his hand.
However an official statement sent to Xfm
claims that while Justin did indeed damage his hand, the injury was only
slight and the touted "drunken bar brawl" didn't take place at all.
"This injury poses no threat to their arena
tour or his participation in the Band Aid III single. Justin is able to
play his guitar with his continued flair and is currently in tour rehearsals."

Ashlee
Scapegoat? |
Launch reports: Ashlee Simpson's drummer,
Chris Fox, is accepting the blame for cueing the wrong song for her second
performance on Saturday Night Live on October 23. In a message posted on
Simpson's official website, he said, "I am in charge of starting the songs
and cueing their backing tracks, (which are) miscellaneous percussion,
random sound effects, etc. Plain and simple, I cued the wrong song." [see

Death Case Shakeup |
Launch reports: Voletta Wallace, the mother
of the late Notorious B.I.G., has altered her wrongful death lawsuit against
the Los Angeles Police Department. The Los Angeles Times reports that Wallace
has dismissed Harry Billups, who is also known as Amir Muhammad, as a defendant
in the lawsuit. The decision sent shockwaves through the legal community
as Billups was the alleged triggerman in the shooting death of the rapper
on March 9, 1997. [see full story for more]- Click

R.Kelly
Sues Jay-Z |
AP reports: Singer R. Kelly sued rapper Jay-Z
on Monday for $75 million, alleging Jay-Z's "spite and jealousy" prompted
him to use violence to force Kelly off their national tour.
The breach of contract suit suggests Jay-Z
was perturbed because Kelly was the higher-paid performer. The animosity
led to deliberate lighting flubs and other technical problems, violence
against Kelly, and threats to force the promoter to drop him, court papers
say. The promoter is also named as a defendant. [see full story for more]-

Vince
Neil Assaults Soundman |
Blabbermouth reports: The following first-hand
eyewitness account was filed by Jeff K at JeffK.net:
"All's well that certainly didn't end well
Saturday night [Oct. 30] at 93.3 The Bone's Skeleton Ball starring Vince
Neil of MÖTLEY CRÜE at Gilley's Dallas.... All seemed right with
Vince's world until the end of the show when Vince decided to pick up his
guitar. He then began having issues with the sound man... a sweetheart
of a guy named Mike who's been working sound at Gilley's forever. Apparently
Vince wasn't pleased with the level or something?.. and he proceeded to
throw his guitar down, walk over to the soundboard... LEAP ON TOP of the
board... and with what witnesses say was an 'open hand'... Vince BITCHSLAPPED
Mike so hard it caused him to fall back and hit his head on the floor.
That's when all hell broke loose. Vince left the stage... the Dallas Police
stormed the area and the paramedics arrived. SHOW OVER! [see full story

Hagar
on Van Halen Reunion |
Blabbermouth reports: VAN HALEN frontman Sammy
Hagar spoke to Favazz of the St. Louis radio station KSHE 95 in early October
about the group's current reunion tour and Hagar's future plans.
Sammy Hagar: "I like my band better, I'm
sorry. I think the VAN HALEN thing is great. I wanted to do it, it was
really my idea, I pushed for it to happen everybody wanted to do it,
it wasn't like I had to twist anybody's arm. But I mean, I instigated it,
I made the initial call, and I'm glad I did, because I had to have some
conclusion of that, and we did it for the fans. It could have been better
than it was. The show was pretty awesome, but I'd like to see everybody
in that band be a little more concerned about the fans the way that I am
besides just going on and doing the show. I just wish everybody took it
a little more seriously." [see full story for more]- Click
