Madonna Death Threat?
Ananova reports: Madonna has dropped out
of three gigs in Israel after apparently receiving death threats.
The Sun says the threats against herself and her two children, seven-year-old Lourdes and three-year-old Rocco, came in a series of letters.
The newspaper says the singer "freaked out" when she learned of the threats - believed to have come from a Palestinian group.
She first planned to defy the extremists but cancelled after the unnamed group mentioned details about her children in letters sent to her Las Angeles office. [see full story for more] - Click Here for the Full Story

Goth Insurance?
Blabbermouth reports: Donald Bradley of
The Kansas City Star is reporting that city of Blue Springs, Missouri has
returned almost half of a $273,000 federal grant it received in 2002 to
fight a perceived growing Goth culture. Some feared the black clothes,
morbid music and obsession with the occult and Ozzy Osbourne could
lure a wave of youngsters into a world of depression, drugs and suicide.
Officials returned $132,000 of the money because the Goth situation was overstated in the beginning, Blue Springs Police Chief Wayne McCoy said Friday (May 21).
Community forums on Goth culture were never held because of a lack of interest, and no youth received treatment for Goth behavior. Both were provisions of the grant. [see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Nikki Sixx Injures Fan?
Blabbermouth reports: Former MÖTLEY
CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx is said to have injured a fan at a BRIDES
OF DESTRUCTION show in Las Vegas Saturday night (May 22) after allegedly
hurling his bass guitar into the crowd during the band's performance. The
following eyewitness account was posted on the Metal Sludge web site:
"Just got back from the [BRIDES OF DESTRUCTION] show in Sparks, NV @ The New Oasis.
"Part way thru the set Tracii [Guns] threw his guitar out to the crowd. Next thing you know, Nikki goes over to Tracii's side of the stage and LAUNCHED HIS f***ING BASS AT MACH 10 speed into the crowd. He then jumped down with Tracii and all hell f***ing broke loose. After the crowd was pushed away by security and Nikki was pulled back on stage (giving whomever he hit with the bass the middle finger and saying 'f*** You!') there was a kid on the floor lying in a pool of blood... and he was not moving. I am not dramatizing this at all... it was a very uncomfortable situation. People were pissed off at what had happened. This was an all-ages show, by the way. [Nikki reportedly has done this in the past, one fans that goes by the name of "allisterfiend" posted a message and picture of his injured head on May 21st to the official Brides of Destruction message board. However, allisterfiend seemed to wear his injures as a badge of honor. Another fans reported that a friend got hit in the head by Nikki's bass at the CBGB's show. What transpired at this show is being debated on the BOD website, no one from the band has checked in with their side of the story yet. Speculation has it that someone was heckling the band, Tracii threw his guitar and then Nikki somehow got involved (either throwing his Bass or jumping off stage to join Tracii to break things up. No real solid details to report right now. see full story for more of the original email]- Click Here for the Full Story
Criss Too Old For KISS
Blabbermouth reports: Original KISS drummer
Peter Criss made an appearance on the "Friday Night Rocks" show on New
York's Q104.3 Friday night (May 21) to discuss his departure from the group
that he co-founded more than 30 years ago. The following are some excerpts
from that interview (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET):
"To get right to it, I got a call from Paul [Stanley] the following day after I posted what I had to post on my site, because I was flooded by [e-mails from] a ton of people. And it got to be that they wanted to start a 'new' KISS. And I'm like, 'What do you mean 'new' KISS?'
"It really got down to He almost said I was too old to cut it, I couldn't play two hours anymore, they felt that their camp wanted some younger blood, that they wanted to do new stuff between you an me, a bunch of bunk. I didn't buy it for one instant. I'm listening to this that I'm too old, I can't play this anymore, I was complaining [see the full story link for the extensive transcript of the interview]- Click Here for the Full Story

NIN Manager Fires Back
VH1 reports: Nine Inch Nails' former manager
John Malm has shot back at Trent Reznor, who filed a suit against him earlier
this week seeking millions of dollars.
Not only does Malm refute Reznor's claim that he and former business manager/accountant Richard Szekelyi ripped off the rocker, he insists that Reznor actually owes him over $2 million in unpaid commissions. After numerous attempts to procure the payments, the manager sued Reznor in April, weeks before the suit against Malm and Szekelyi was filed.
"Trent Reznor's complete lack of loyalty and integrity is astounding," Malm said in a statement. "After 20 years of my professional and personal friendship and support, through some of his darkest hours and at great expense to me, he has decided that everyone in the world is to blame for his problems except himself. It's time for him to take some responsibility for his actions." [see full story for lots more] - Click Here for the Full Story

Darkness Recovering From
Surgery
Xfm reports: Darkness singer Justin Hawkins
has been forced to undergo surgery to save his voice, due to a severe problem
with stomach acid that may have ruined his voice completely.
"I had a hiatus hernia and acid reflux," Hawkins told The Sun, "Basically, there's a sphincter inside your throat, as well as up your bottom. It's supposed to control how much acid is let up into your throat.
"But mine was broken so my stomach was spitting acid into the throat. It was literally burning my voice up."
However, the operation was a success, and Hawkins is permanently cured, in fact he reckons his voice has improved.
"I'm definitely back to my best," he says, "If anything, my voice is now sounding better than ever because I haven't got to hold back." - Click Here for the Full Story
