Britney Pregnant?
antiMUSIC reports: Pop star Britney Spears
recently became engaged to marry her backing dancer Kevin Federline, according
to her publicist. This puts a couple weeks of rumors to rest. But another
rumor swirling around has the pop singer expecting a Christmas baby.
The British tabloid News of the World reports that the engagement is due to the fact that Spears is pregnant and is expecting around Christmas, according to a "Spears insider". If this is true it is not the only baby that Federline is reportedly expecting. According to Herald Sun, 27-year-old actress Shar Jackson says that she is 8-months pregnant with Federline's child, who is also reportedly the father to her 2-year-old daughter. The Herald reports that Federline and Jackson were also engaged until a few weeks ago. - Click Here for the Full Story
P2P Ban
Wired reports: Congress advanced or passed
several bills this week that would increase penalties for infringing copyright,
and outlaw devices and software that could be used to illegally copy and
distribute content. The legislation would also protect computer users from
identity theft and the spread of spyware.
The Senate introduced the Induce Act, which critics say would ban file-sharing networks and stymie the introduction of any technology that could be used to copy and distribute copyright work. In addition, the Senate passed the Pirate Act, which would make it easier for the feds to go after file swappers. And on Friday, it passed a bill that would throw anyone caught videotaping a movie in theater into prison for up to three to 10 years.
In the House of Representatives, a committee approved a bill that would ban the use of spyware to track computer users without their permission. [see full story for lots more] - Click Here for the Full Story
David Lee Roth Paramedic
siN's metal news reports: According to
an article in the New York Daily News, legendary rocker David Lee Roth,
the famed front man for the '80s megaband VAN HALEN, is apparently reinventing
himself as an emergency medical technician. With Sammy Hagar off making

"The other night at the Four Seasons restaurant, the 48-year-old millionaire musician revealed to dinner companions that he has been living in a modest apartment on the lower East Side and showing up most days for EMT training.
"I used to be a surgical orderly in South Central L.A.," Roth said, "I started that when I got out of junior college in the early '70s, and that led to a variety of things in the outdoor medical fire force and training with the Green Berets. ... My father was a surgeon and uncles and my cousins were also in the medical community, so I come by it natural."
Roth, who said he has relocated to New York from his estate in Pasadena, Calif., specifically to train as an EMT, said he hopes to obtain his certification in November and work as a volunteer one weekend per month. [see full story for lots more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Butch Walker Takes On American
Hi-Fi
press release reports: Call it a co-headlining
tour with a twist: Epic recording artist Butch Walker and American Hi-Fi
are hitting the road for a series of dates on which American Hi-Fi will
open the show, then return as Walker's backing band. Says Walker, "A lot
of bands do the split 7" single thing, but why stop there? Our idea is
to split everything right down the middle, including the logos on the bass
drum. Besides," he laughs, "It worked for Dylan and The Band." The tour,
billed as "Clash of the Heavyweights," will kick off July 22nd at the Lincoln
Theater in Raleigh, NC. Walker's Epic labelmate Val Emmich will open on
select shows.
The idea for the tour came during the recording of American Hi-Fi's new album Hearts on Parade, which Walker produced. "During the sessions, I became sort of a 4th member," he says. "We found that we like the same food, booze and music. And the American Hi-Fi guys don't smell, which is very important when traveling by bus."
Walker is touring in support of his highly anticipated Epic debut LETTERS, which arrives in stores on August 24th. [see full story for details] - Click Here for the Full Story
