Johnny Depp May Play Ozzy
Sky News reports: Johnny Depp is understood
to be in talks to play Ozzy Osbourne in a film about the rocker's life.
In an interview with Kerrang! magazine, Ozzy's wife Sharon said nothing was 100% certain.
But she said the former BLACK SABBATH frontman was talking to the "Pirates of the Carribean" star about the role.
Sharon also hinted that Ozzy, who was badly hurt in a quad bike accident in December, might retire in a couple of years. [more]- Click Here for the Full Story

The New Zealand Herald reports: Italian authorities plan to exhume at least
two more bodies in the investigation into Satanic rites, heavy metal and
human sacrifice that has kept the nation agog for three weeks.
At least three murders are already pinned on the heavy metal musicians from the BEASTS OF SATAN band and their plumber friend, all now in custody, whom police believe to be leaders of a Satanic sect known by the same name.
But combing through records of other recent deaths in the district of Legnano, on the outskirts of Milan, particularly those that happened when the moon was full or new, police have alighted on two baffling suicides. [more]- Click Here for the Full Story
Tommy Lee Denies 86ing
Blabbermouth reports: The Associated Press
is reporting that there's plenty of spin about what happened at the Bellagio's
Light nightclub when former MÖTLEY CRÜE drummer Tommy Lee was
spinning the tunes.
Sean Christie, the club's director of marketing, said Lee had to be removed by security officers, but Lee's manager said the 41-year-old drummer walked out of Sunday's show.
"He was playing lousy music," Christie said. "We told him to wrap up his set and make a graceful exit. When he refused, we said we would just pull the plug on him, which is what we ended up doing."
In a statement Wednesday to The Associated Press, Lee's manager, Carl Stubner, said, "Tommy walked out of the venue (with his personal security helping him with his gear) after 30 minutes into the show since it was clear that the 'club' management wanted him to play top 40 hip-hop tunes for their lounge." Jane's Addiction Split...
Again
NME reports: The long-term future of JANE'S
ADDICTION appears uncertain this afternoon (June 23) with rumours abound
they're to split.
The band, who reformed in 2002 after ten years apart and released 'Strays', an album of new material in 2003, have been on a hiatus for much of this year.
A statement has been published online said to be from all the band members, apart from singer Perry Farrell saying that their "volatile combination" means they will be no more.
The statement on Navarro's website reads: "We know we can't avoid this anymore so we will give it our best shot. What's the deal? The deal is that it simply didn't work out. Sometimes things just don't work out. In all honesty, we have broken up and rejoined roughly four times over the years. Perhaps that should shed some light as to where we are now..." Slash Supports Press Blackout
MTV reports: [MTV spoke with Velvet Revolver
about a number of issues, one being Scott Weiland's decision not to talk
to the press following two articles in Revolver and Maxim that he didn't
appreciate. What follows is Slash's response to the decision] "In this
band he's just out there proving himself as someone who is really serious
about what it is that he does," Slash said. "And as soon as you get a really
negative, opinionated thing from the journalists, it's like, 'You're just
not getting it. I don't want to talk to you anymore.' And I totally understand
it, because it's like we're out there and he's pulling it off and the last
thing he wants to hear about is [what happened] six months ago or two years
ago or three years ago. ... The rest of us all have pretty sordid pasts
[as well - we] just never got caught." [see the full story to see what

Will Farrell Rocks Anchorman
press release reports: Republic/Universal
Records will release the soundtrack to the highly anticipated summer movie
"Anchorman: The Legend Of Ron Burgundy" June 29th. The soundtrack features
the 1970s setting in the movie including classics "Ride Captain Ride" by
Blues Image and Kansas' "Carry On Wayward Son." Among the highly regarded
vocalists on the record, the highlight of this soundtrack may just be a
new singing sensation: Will Farrell (as Ron Burgundy) performing Starland
Vocal Band's classic "Afternoon Delight".
The movie, "Anchorman: The Legend Of Ron Burgundy" will be in theaters July 9th. Will Ferrell ("Elf," "Old School") stars as Ron Burgundy, the top-rated anchorman in San Diego in the '70s. When feminism marches into the newsroom in the form of ambitious newswoman Veronica Corningstone (Christina Applegate - "View From the Top," TV's "Married With Children"), Ron is willing to play along at first-as long as Veronica stays in her place, covering cat fashion shows, cooking, and other "female" interests. But when Veronica refuses to settle for being eye candy and steps behind the news desk, it's more than a battle between two perfectly coiffed anchor-persons...it's war.
