Tried To Save Dimebag |

for the exits after Abbott was shot by a longtime fan of his former group,

Killer
Obsessed With Pantera |
ABC reports: The man who shot former Pantera
guitarist "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott and three other men to death at a nightclub
was obsessed with the popular heavy metal band and made bizarre accusations
against it, a onetime friend said in reports published Friday.
Jeramie Brey said gunman Nathan Gale once
showed up at a friend's house saying he wanted to share songs he had written.
The pages of lyrics were copied from Pantera, but Gale claimed he had written
them, Brey said.
"He was off his rocker," Brey told The
Columbus Dispatch. "He said they were his songs, that Pantera stole them
from him and that he was going to sue them."
He later told Brey that he planned to sue
Pantera for stealing his identity. [see full story for more]-

Mustaine
Inspired by Dimebag To Mend Relationships |
Blabbermouth reports: MEGADETH mainman Dave
Mustaine has posted the following message on the group's official message
board:
Tonight I had the honor and priveledge
to host a special [MTV2 'Headbanger's Ball'] tribute to the life of Darrel
'Dimebag' Abbott.
I went out to NYC Thursday at 9:30 PM on
a redeye to do this, and during the period since then, I have had a good
amount of time to reflect on my own life... I would like to, in honor of
Darrel's life, learn from him and how many friends he apparently had made.
Over my career I have a lot of cleaning up to do on my side of the street
as well as letting things go, for once and for all; I need to apologize
to many people and also to forgive and quit holding grudges.
Having said that, if there is something
I did to you or someone you know, please give me the opportunity to make
this right. To SLAYER and METALLICA: I am sorry for whatever I may have
done in the past and wish to make it right, to put it behind us. Please
let me know how and when we can talk this out. To previous bandmembers
and managers: I say the same to you. To all the MEGADETH/METALLICA fans:
from this day forward, there will never be another unkind word from my
mouth perpetuating this silly 22-year-old feud. [see full story for the

Wal-mart
Lyrics Suit |
AP reports: Wal-Mart Stores Inc., which promotes
itself as a seller of clean music, deceived customers by stocking compact
discs by the rock group Evanescence that contain the f-word, a lawsuit
claims.
The hit group's latest CD and DVD, "Anywhere
But Home," don't carry parental advisory labels alerting potential buyers
to the obscenity. If they did, Wal-Mart wouldn't carry them, according
to the retailer's policy.
But the lawsuit claims Wal-Mart knew about
the explicit lyrics in the song, "Thoughtless," because it censored the
word in a free sample available on its Web site and in its stores. [see

Glenn
Evans Reissue |
press release reports: n whetted anticipation
of the forthcoming Nuclear Assault studio effort, Screaming Ferret Wreckords/Escapi
Music has delved into the vaults and, on January 4th, is issuing a re-mastered
edition of Attitude, the extremely rare sophomore solo effort by Nuclear
Assault's legendary drummer Glenn Evans under the moniker CIA.
Originally released to limited capacity
in 1992, Attitude displays both Glenn's amazing musical prowess, and his
humanity. According to Glenn, "The CIA Attitude album was recorded in a
period of my life when things were beginning to fall apartmy marriage,
Nuclear Assault, and life in general. Everyone has those periods in their
life at one time or another. I had a lot of emotions flowing through me
and the easiest way to get them out was through music. I was proud of it
then, and I'm proud of it now. It never really had a proper release, and
this time around it will." [see full story to check out an mp3]-
