Dimebag
Murdered |
antiMUSIC reports: A fatal shooting occurred
at a Damageplan concert on Wednesday night in Columbus, Ohio. Dimebag Darrell
(Abbot) was one of the victims.
Columbus, Ohio's NBC 4 reports that the
shooting took place shortly after 10 p.m. at the Alrosa Villa where Damageplan
was performing.
NBC 4's reporter on the scene, David Wayne,
reports that two members of the band, including Dimebag, were shot and
killed and the gunman also reportedly died on the scene.
A man reportedly stormed the stage and
began shooting as Damageplan began their set, according to an eye witness.
The gunman reportedly fired five or six shots at Dimebag before being tackled
by a bouncer as he fire on the stage and into the crowd, according to witness
accounts. The gunman was then shot and killed by a police officer on the
scene, said Columbus police Sgt. Brent Mull. [see full story for more,

he was slapped for a second time with paternity papers outside a Queens

Fiona
Vs Sony |
Free Fiona reports: I thought you might be
interested in this. Fans of Fiona Apple have started a protest against
Sony/BMG Music. Fiona's new album, Extraordinary Machine, has been complete
since May of 2003, but Sony executives have decided not to release it because,
in their opinion, it lacks commercial appeal.
The protest involves mailing thousands
of apples to the office of Andrew Lack, CEO of Sony Music, as a symbol
of support for the singer. The date of the mailing is January 24th, 2005.
Following the week of the mailings, a live protest will take place outside
the Sony building on Madison Avenue in New York City.[see full story for

Novembers
Doom Drop Bassist |
novembersdoom.com reports: Novembers Doom
have recently parted ways with bass player Mike LeGros. Mike played bass
with the band for the past 2 years, and contributed to the recording of
the upcoming CD, The Pale Haunt Departure.
It was brought to our attention that he
was not comfortable in the band, due to creative differences, and the dedication
to his instrument we require suffered because of this. Very simply, it
was time for a change, on both sides.
Mike is an amazing person, and we are forever
grateful for everything he did for Novembers Doom during his time with
us. We wish him nothing but the best with Disinter, Nachtmystium, and any
other project he aligns himself with! [see full story for more, details
