Jimmy Eat World, the Used, Sum 41 and Good Charlotte which all broke through or sold well with their last CDs have seen their followups flag faster than they can change chords.
The result not only suggests the waning of this speedy and tuneful style. It points up the weakening power of rock radio to break albums without major help from a pop crossover.
Some of the groups have enjoyed major support
frommodern-rock or mainstream-rock stations to little avail. [see full

A BBC5 documentary alleges that The Beatles
fathered children to prostitutes while living in Liverpool. The alleged
paternity stems from charges from the band's publicist from 1963 to 1966,
Tony Barrow, that the band's manager, Brian Epstein provided the act with
call-girls before their high-profile marraiges. Some of the Fab Four's
sex partners became pregnant and, according to Barrow, were paid off by
Epstein to keep things quiet. - Click

Scheduled for release on 7th March the
follow-up to 2002's The Remote Part is to be called Warnings/Promises.
That's all the information we have at the mo', but in his most recent diary
entry on the band's official site, frontman Roddy Woomble has described
it as 'ragged' and 'noisy', so chances are it's going to be monumental![see

"It's true. Murder Weapon has decided to
call it quits. We've had a great time doing the band, but like they say,
all good things must come to an end. There's no 'bad blood' (pardon the
pun) between any of the band members. We all are still friends. All of
us have a lot of responsibilities (work, school, etc.) outside of Murder
Weapon, which essentially led to the break up. We regret not touring as
much and not getting a chance to record our new material, but that's how
it goes. Our last show is in Richmond on Dec 26th. Come out if you can.
It's been real. Thanks to all our friends, Steve at Martyr, all the bands
that helped us out along the way. [see full story for more]-

Included among the covers is a remake of
committed Christian, Sir Cliff Richard's 1976 hit "Devil Woman" with guest
vocals by the infamous King Diamond. The band will be creating an animated
video for the track based upon the characters created in the Dominator
animated movie and comic series (to which lead singer Dani Filth offers
his vocal talents). Also included are covers of Ozzy Osbourne's "Mr. Crowley"
and "Bestial Lust" from black metal godfathers, Bathory. The two new tracks,
recorded in early October specifically for this collection, are entitled
"Prey" and "Soft White Throat". Rounding out the collection is a remix
of "Nymphetamine" featuring band vocalist Sarah Jezebel Diva ; the original
version which featured vocals from Liv Kristine Espenaes of Leaves' Eyes
and a remix of "Filthy Little Secret" by Rob Caggiano.[see full story for

On "Sessions for Robert J," a DVD/CD release coming out December 7th on Duck/Reprise Records, Eric Clapton ups the ante even more, featuring live recordings done in 2004 in four different settings. They capture all the excitement of Clapton's love for one of the blues' greatest artists. On both DVD and CD, this is a unique collection for the ages.
The DVD, featuring 19 songs written by Robert Johnson, was filmed in rehearsal studios in England and Texas, as well as 508 Park Ave. in Dallas, where Robert Johnson actually recorded in 1937, and ends in a hotel room in Santa Monica, California. The studio tapings feature Clapton's full band, while the Park Ave. songs are performed by Clapton and guitarist Doyle Bramhall II, and the California segment is Clapton performing alone.
The DVD also includes exclusive interview
segments and other rare footage of Clapton and his musicians rehearsing.[see
