Phil Anselmo Vs. al Qaeda
Blabbermouth reports: Cleveland, Ohio's
"The Metal Show" (TheMetalShow.com), which airs on 92.3 FM WXTM (Xtreme
Radio), recently asked former PANTERA and current SUPERJOINT RITUAL frontman
Philip Anselmo to record a message for the troops overseas. A transcript
of the audio message follows: "You guys, overseas... My Lord, this is Philip
H. Anselmo from SUPERJOINT RITUAL. And I do nothing - nothing - as of late
but write about our situations in a military light, in a political light.
We are backed into a corner, and the reason I say 'we' is because there's
a lot of people out there that want to protest the war, and this and that,
what-not Look, the Middle East has been a pile of s*** for over seven
decades? I don't know, I have no idea [maybe] it's longer than that. I
guess all we're trying to do is show them first of all, there is a way,
there is a way to make your country work. Secondly, if you don't catch
on to the way, we'll kick your ass some more. And as far as your terrorists
and that [goes]. Only that, and pretty much that only, is going to get
even deeper and deeper into the Middle East, and WE - WILL - KICK - YOUR
- ASS. Deep into the Middle East. I suggest you take heed - any of you
- and if you are out there, and you're a plotter, and you're with the al
Qaeda, you are my enemy, and I dare you to face me one on one - EVER! 'Cause
I will f***ing destroy you. Thank you." [see full story for a link to the

Saul Williams Is Back
press release reports: The past decade
has seen Saul Williams emerge as one of the world's most recognized poets
as well as a rising actor and a highly acclaimed musician. In the music
world, Saul made noise with some tracks in the mid to late 90's on the
Eargasm and Lyricist Lounge compilations, to name a few. The songs he released
during this time period were grounded in hip-hop but were a far cry from
the traditional rap that was gaining popularity at the time. He released
2001's Amethyst Rockstar, which was co-produced by Rick Rubin and won him
critical acclaim all over the world (The Times of London named it best
album of the year), leading to him touring with Blackalicious, Cursive
and The Mars Volta.
On September 21st, The FADER LABEL will release his latest album, simply titled Saul Williams. [see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Slapped:
Rock The Vote
[Despite the outpouring of hatred from
Motley Crue fans last week, Scott Slapp returns this week to slap someone
else. Actually this week he slaps a concept. Read on as Scott slaps Rock
for Change.]
This election year is a bit surreal. I turn on the news and I get the feeling I'm watching 'Nick At Night' or a religious infomercial. On one hand, we have a guy that looks like Herman Munster and is so dull that he'd put insomniacs fast to sleep. His running mate looks a bit like an overgrown Bobby Brady and has that disingenuous smile that only a trial attorney can master. You know the one, the cat that ate the canary. On the other hand, the President reminds me of that guy on the 700 Club; you know the guy that implores you to say a prayer and then send a "love gift". What really bugs me is when the President gives an unscripted speech he has more pauses than Pauly Shore. I feel like screaming "spit it out!" at the TV.
Needless to say, I'm not supporting either side this year. But there are some organizations out there that are trying to get young people excited and involved. Which is noble cause, young people should become engaged in politics, because we have the biggest stake in the future. The problem I have is that these groups tend to just be schlock fronts for either major party (primarily the Democrats). They want young people to get excited over this election but they give us these two choices? Give me a break.
And it's nothing new, every four years we are offered up two varieties on the same theme. Sure they may talk a different game but when it comes down to it, once elected they do what's in the best interest of retaining their power, not the people. The choice usually boils down to "the lesser of two evils". Not very inspiring.
[That was the first part of Scott's column. Click the full story link if you want the read the rest or to sound off in opposition or agreement with Scott's opinion. ] - Click Here for the Full Story
