band that allegedly spent $4 million on its 2002 album 'Untouchables',
fighting its label and MTV on their new video for 'Y'all Want a Single'
may seem hypocritical. "I've had these frustrations from day one," frontman
Jonathan Davis tells RollingStone.com, also chiding media conglomerates
and the Federal Communications Commission for diluting the music scene.

Courtney Love Song Theft
Rockdirt reports: Courtney Love's former
manager and boyfriend James Barber tells Jeannette Walls of MSNBC.com charges
by former DJ Rich Shertenleib that he helped write 'Hold on to Me' are
untrue. "Courtney Love wrote �Hold on to Me' in her living room in the
spring of 2000. I know because I was there," Barber insisted. "I gave Courtney
Love the chord changes over the phone on the morning she recorded it at
99X in May 2002." The track appears on her latest album, 'America's Sweetheart'.

off their first nationwide tour on May 13 in St. Louis, Missouri. Dates

Blabbermouth reports: METALLICA will be
honored by ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers)
at the 21st annual Pop Music Awards held on May 18 at the Beverly Hilton
hotel in Beverly Hills, California. Also honored will be singer-songwriter
Jackson Browne. Over 600 leading songwriters, recording artists and music
industry leaders are expected to gather at the black-tie gala to salute
the songwriters and publishers of ASCAP's most performed songs of the year.

Slipknot's 10th Mask
MTV reports: Nine new masks apparently
weren't enough for Slipknot. A 10th was created for the band's latest "member":
its fans.
The cover of Slipknot's forthcoming album, Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses), shows this new mask, created by the band's visual and conceptual mastermind, Clown. The Slipknot percussionist conceived of the mask recently and continues to work on an actual version for fans while on the road headlining the Jägermeister Music Tour, which runs through May 14 in Sacramento, California.
Upon its completion, the mask will be available at Slipknot shows, potentially providing the performing band with a view of a sea of homogenous maggots, as Slipknot fans are called. [see full story for more and a peak at the cover art]- Click Here for the Full Story

BRMC & Gomez Lollapalooza
Billboard reports: As expected, Black
Rebel Motorcycle Club and Gomez have joined the lineup for this year's
Lollapalooza festival. The tour will kick off July 14 at White River Amphitheatre
in Auburn, Wash., with a two-day bill that also includes Morrissey, Sonic
Youth, Flaming Lips, Modest Mouse, the Polyphonic Spree and String Cheese
Incident.

The Who Go Down
Billboard reports: The Who are preparing
to play a pair of cities each in Japan, Australia and California following
their June 12 performance at England's Isle of Wight festival.

celebrity participants will be named in coming weeks. Money raised at the
