Phish
Bassist Caught With 9-Year-Old Girl
Rolling Stone Reports: Phish bassist Mike
Gordon, 38, was arrested Monday, August 11th, on charges of child endangerment
after he was found with a nine-year-old girl in a secluded boathouse during
a show by the Dead in Jones Beach, New York.
According to a statement released by Major Richard O'Donnell of the New York State Park Police, Gordon was charged with a misdemeanor count of child endangerment and trespassing. "The arrest was the result of a complaint by the mother of a nine-year-old girl," reads the statement. "The mother became concerned when she could not locate her daughter in the backstage area."
The uninjured child was reunited with her family shortly after Gordon's arrest.
According to New York's WNBC television, Gordon told police that he was taking "art photos" of the girl.
Why didn't Townshend think of that excuse? Art photos? Sounds Phishy (I couldn't resist).

Bare
Britney
It's hump day, so we thought we'd start
out the day in rock with some trash to get us in the mood. (plus it was
a slow news day).
AccessHollywood reports: Breathtaking Britney Spears just about bares it all for the September issue of British Elle, wearing nothing but the shortest shorts imaginable, unless you also count the jewels in her pierced belly button.
Inside the pages, Britney's backside is
revealed by photographer Mark Abrahams. Spears sports a little angel tattoo
on her lower back and as beautiful as Britney looks in the spread, Elle
admitted the photos were retouched.

Arabic
Idol
This story was a bit too crazy to pass
up. Wait for the show finale that may feature a suicide bombing? In this
crazy world anything is possible.
Much Music reports: It's not Pop Idol, American Idol or Canadian Idol, it's "Superstar" the franchise's Arabic counterpart, featuring wannabe pop stars from Syria, Lebanon and Jordan. But one thing that makes this show vastly different from the Western versions is the fans. Last week, when the Lebanese frontrunner was eliminated from the competition, live audience members pelted each other with chairs while the two remaining contestants fainted. Monday night when a Jordanian won the competition thousands of supporters took to the streets cheering, honking horns and even shooting guns in the air. - Click Here Full Story
Ozzy
AWOL Again
What do you call Ozzfest without Ozzy?
Tattoo The Earth? This year it's KornFest or you always have the fallback
real name, SharonFest. The Ozzone has cancelled another appearance on the
tour. Maybe he heard Kelly's new CD and it made him sick?
siN's Metal New Reports: It's happened again! We've just received word that OZZY OSBOURNE has cancelled yet another headlining performance at this years OZZFEST 2003 in New York at the PNC Bank Arts Center.
Rumor has it, pneumonia is ailing the Prince of Darkness, but KoRn has taken over the headlining spot. - Click Here for Full Story
The
Gilmore Crue
Another fun one for you. Looks like Vince
Neil is keeping busy while he isn't yelling at the two dozen fans that
show up to his solo shows.

Included on Neil's calendar, according to the Sun: a guest appearance on the series The Gilmore Girls this fall, and an appearance on a pilot episode ofRobin Leach's upcoming syndicated late-night show, Penthouse Vegas, where Neil and Charo will teach each other their unique styles of playing guitar.

Nirvana
Coverboy

Spencer Elden, then four months old, graced the cover of Nirvana's Nevermind.
The image became a generational landmark -- Elden even reprised the shot
in a 2001 Rolling Stone tenth-anniversary tribute to Nevermind. Now, the
California sixth-grader is appearing on his second album cover -- The Dragon
Experience, the third solo CD by industrial group Skinny Puppy's cEvin

Partial
Helmet
See is you can keep the family tree in
this one straight.
The Pimp Rock Palace reports: It appears as though Page Hamilton will be re-uniting Helmet and putting out a new album from the group through Interscope in the near future. The bands line-up will be drastically changed however as drummer John Tempesta (White Zombie), bassist Blasko (Rob Zombie) and guitarist Chris Traynor (Helmet, Orange 9mm) are rumored to be backing up Hamilton on the effort, rather than the bands original line-up. The sessions for the album are expected to be helmed by producer Charlie Clouser of nine inch nails fame. At present a best of outing from the band is said to be in the works and is eyeing a tentative September 23rd release date. - Click Here for Full Story

Today's song comes from the band that
staged that Metallica hoax a few weeks back. We here at antiMUSIC were
fans of Unfaith long before the notorious "Metallica Sues Band over Guitar
Chords" article hoax. So we thought now that the dust has settled a little
it might be good to give them some positive exposure.
This is a cool rockin' cover of the New Order classic "True Faith" - MP3
