William Fitzsimmons New Remix Album and Tour Coming This Summer
William Fitzsimmons has announced a U.S. Summer tour in support of the release of his remix CD, 'Derivatives'.

On the new album (Mercer Street/Downtown Records, distributed to Independent Record Stores nationwide via Junketboy,) Fitzsimmons' hushed gem 'The Sparrow and the Crow' gets an electronic makeover. From trippy reimaginings of 'I Don't Feel It Anymore' and 'If You Would Come Back Home' to a lush arrangement of 'You Still Hurt Me', featuring the accompaniment of a High School choir, to a twisted cover of 'I Kissed A Girl', 'Derivatives' showcases Fitzsimmons' irreverence and willingness to experiment, as well as the strength of his original songs, which stand up well to their new surroundings.

'The Sparrow And The Crow', a stunning album which chronicled the end of Fitzsimmons' marriage, earned rave reviews upon its release and ended up as iTunes' 'Best Singer-Songwriter Album 2009'. - more on this story

League510's When The Chips Don't Fall Feat. 1-O.A.K.
League510's compilation project Invasion Vol. 1 will be released in late June, but you can check out "When The Chips Don't Fall" the latest track off the compilation right now.

The track, featuring Honor Roll Crew member 1-O.A.K., is a synthesized layer-cake of sound and soul, delivering velvet harmonies over the chorus and provocative lyrical styling throughout. It builds heavy from the start with space age, hypnotic keyboards, driving drums, and smooth vocals that snowball to a frenzied pinnacle as the chorus comes to a close.

The verses, courtesy of group emcees TK, Mont, and Mr. Knowitall, question the benefits of the baller-status lifestyle and bring listeners inside the world of League510's genuineness, as the crooning over the chorus matches the group's sentiments: "When the chips don't fall / and the broads don't call / would you still be down for me? / My life consists of more than this / worth more than this, it's business s*** / try not to get consumed by it / please divert your attention." The combination of League's verbal honesty and proprietary sonic style dubbed Town Techno carries on The League's tradition of innovation in the form of hip-hop. - Listen to it here

So I Ate Myself, Bite by Bite
Black Moth Super Rainbow's Dreamend will release a new solo album, So I Ate Myself, Bite by Bite on August 8th. This will mark the third album from a member of the electronic band to be released this year.

With So I Ate Myself, Bite by Bite, Dreamend diverges from the synth-pop of Black Moth to take on unified nightmarish folk songs that chronicle the events in the life of a serial killer.

In one of the album's standout tracks, the sing-a-long, banjo driven "Magnesium Light," the narrative finds the killer in a positive mental space, proving that through the lens of Dreamend, even the darkest subject matter can sound bright. - more on this story

Visitors Teams with Citizen Kane and Sal Principato for Ledger
Visitors debut EP "Ledger" featuring Dennis Kane (AKA Citizen Kane) and Sal Principato (Liquid Liquid/Fist Of Facts) With Richard Sen Remix will be out June 22nd worldwide but you can get it now n 12" Vinyl and digitally exclusively @ Juno

Fans of disco, nu disco, dance rock whatever you call it pay attention to this hot new release from Visitors entitled "Ledger." It's the rare 4/4 groove that sounds so analog and so fcking live that it evokes an era produced before computers dominated the world, (back then we cut tape instead of clicking mice). "Ledger" is all about celebrating a fertile past with a true vision for the future dance floor. This is an authentic and elegantly specific NYC sound.

"Ledger" traverses the spectrum from balearica, to disco to no wave. Featuring an impassioned and iconic vocal from legendary Liquid Liquid front man Sal P, Ledger carves out new ground in the nu-disco landscape. Rising from a hard bass line and haunting acoustic rhythms, the song moves lyrically into a dance groove that builds from the counterpoint of live playing and electronic production. Featuring live guitar, percussion, and keyboard work, the song develops a loft like frenzy as it progresses. Ledger has a lyric that eludes the clich of the usual dance track filler and recalls the impressionistic notations of Talking Heads "Remain in Light" or Bowie's "The Lodger". Ledger takes its place in the realm of thinking man's disco, think Dinosaur L, Tiger Stripes, or any of the driving No-wave disco jams that used to issue from the downtown alembic. - more on this story
