Chosen by Alternative Press as one of the 100 Bands You Need To Know in 2009, the band has spent the past year supporting their debut EP Settle The Score touring with Amber Pacific, The Friday Night Boys, around the country several times and appearing at Bamboozle Left. Originally spawned from San Diego State University's infamous party scene, FIGHT FAIR's members came together with a wide range of influences from pop-punk, screamo, hip-hop, hardcore, emo and more. Lead vocalist Alex Bigman describes the bands sound as "uplifting and positive while maintaining the aggressive sound we grew up with." Guitarist, Ian MacDougall, who was hit by a car while riding his bike last month is still recovering and has posted the following update on his recovery blog: Hey guys just wanted to check in with y'all and let ya know how I'm doing so far. I've been keeping off my feet as much as possible and getting lots of rest. I got the staples out of my head, got a mini cast set on my wrist and one of those big clunky strap on boot casts for my ankle. As far as my hip goes I just gotta make sure I don't put much weight on my right leg. I'm still trying to get out and about though, still getting used to walking with crutches! Outlook is good although my days are still pretty rough, my back and neck are so jacked from this thing! Starting physical therapy this week, not looking forward to it but it'll be good in the long run. I've been spending my time mostly in Dallas with my family and commuting back to Austin for doctor visits.

On a side note...if you're the type that's crazy about vinyl, a limited run of 500 of Almanac has been pressed on beautiful red & black swirl wax (with a download included). The recordings for Almanac were crafted using an M Box and 3 mics in Asselin's Pocono Mountain basement, and over the course of time, acquisition of gear, and massive trial-and-error, the bunker blossomed into the One Forest Studio. An empty roller rink was even used to create reverb! "Island of Broken Glass" takes its name from Robert Smithson's sculptural work, recanting destruction and violence inherent in the relationships between nature and man. The lyrics from this song inspired the cover of the album, a spiraling double helix/DNA strand made of burning books. Smithson is responsible for creating the Spiral Jetty in Utah in 1970. Daisy grew up in San Francisco and survived the earthquake of 1989. A classically trained actress, she moved to Los Angeles and worked in film and television until, in 2005, she had a spiritual epiphany and began writing music. Daisy lived in the fabled Rodeo Grounds arts collective in Topanga Canyon, where she wrote funny campfire songs and fought the State to keep her land. Too shy to share her "serious" songs, Daisy stuck to acting gigs by day, and singing by night. Finally, after an intense song-writing jag Daisy sang a somber, personal song to a close friend who strongly advised her to quit her day job and dedicate herself full-time to music. She played her first live show in 2006, and was dubbed an 'instant rock star' in an L.A. Weekly review, which reported that Daisy "stole the show." - more on this story
