Kam Moye's Honest New Video
"Sometimes you have to be grateful for the things you already have." With Kam Moye's new video for "Let's Be Honest," the North Carolina emcee continues to display his down to earth sensibilities, and now finds himself fleshing out those sentiments with a strong set of visuals.

The scenes are filled with Kam rhyming on a park bench and window-shopping with his girl, a refreshing contrast to the decadent hip-hop videos that have grown to be so common. The video is directed by Matt Koza of HOJ Media, who is known for his recent work with Foreign Exchange, Big Pooh, Cymarshall Law, and more.

Kam and MYX Music Label have enlisted Koza for a 3-video package deal, which will also include videos for "Splitting Image" and one other video off of the new album. Kam states, "I've worked with a few video directors in the past and I've had great experiences, but very few had the same quality as Koza's videos. Instead of experimenting with different directors, I wanted to use one director to help tell my story for the album." Kam Moye's new album, Splitting Image, is currently available everywhere via MYX Music Label. - Video

Engineers Release New Album
Pigeon Versus Statue is pleased to announce the US release of Three Fact Fader, the new album from Engineers out on Kscope.

The album, produced by Ken Thomas (M83, Sigur Ros, Cocteau Twins, Maps) is a blistering clash of swirling guitars and gorgeously dreamy harmonies that simultaneously carves Engineers a position along side other classic Shoegaze bands like My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive, Chaperhouse and Ride, and transcends the genre in creating what is a distinctively unique sound that is nothing short ofEngineers.

Three Fact Fader is a bigger, bolder record than 2005's eponymous debut. Sonically there are similarities between the two albums: a penchant for Phil Spector-esque walls of sound, epic and emotive soundscapes that both lyrically and musically provide a space to immerse oneself into, and a supreme use of washed-out harmonies that would make Brian Wilson blush.

There are however some differences. These lay not only in the expansion and evolution of some of the epic song stylings that helped to create their debut, but also the presence of a more rhythmic and groove-based album. Three Fact Fader is unquestionably Engineers' most assured work to date: as comfortable forming the soundtrack to an evening sofa-surfing as it is a late-night dance-floor. - You can preview and buy it here

Dan Zanes and Friends Album To Feature Broadway Stars
Family music pioneers Dan Zanes and Friends delve into a vital part of America's musical heritage with their forthcoming album of timeless songs owned by Sir Paul McCartney's MPL Music Publishing catalog. 76 Trombones comes out November 17 features an array of new friends from Broadway, including Tony Award winners Carol Channing (Hello, Dolly!), Brian Stokes Mitchell (Kiss Me, Kate) and Matthew Broderick (The Producers), along with de'Adre Aziza (Passing Strange) and Derick K. Grant (Bring in 'da Noise, Bring in 'da Funk). The album introduces a new generation of kids to classic Broadway songs that everyone knows and loves.

76 Trombones began in a slightly different way than other Zanes and Friends recordings, this time with an out-of-the-blue phone call. Nancy Jeffries from MPL rang Zanes to see if he and his band would be interested in raiding their Broadway publishing vaults and collaborating with some of Broadway's best to create a family CD. Within the year, after countless hours of sifting and experimenting, Zanes and Friends were holed up in Puerto Rico with long-time Zanes co-producer Rob Friedman recording 76 Trombones.

Zanes and Friends' trip down the Great White Way traverses genre-defining works held by MPL including "Hello Dolly" (from Hello Dolly with Carol Channing), "I Like Everybody" (from The Most Happy Fella with Brian Stokes Mitchell), "I Don't Need Anything But You" (from Annie, with de'Adre Aziza), "I Can Do That" (from A Chorus Line with tap dancer Derick K. Grant), "Before the Parade Passes By" (from Hello, Dolly! with Matthew Broderick), and "Tomorrow, Maana" (from Annie with Sonia de los Santos). - more on this story

General Elektriks Good City for Dreamers Out Today
General Elektriks' new album "Good City for Dreamers" hits today, here is a little background followed by link to check it out: General Elektriks is the brainchild of Herv "RV" Salters. A French national and a vintage keyboard player, RV quickly became the go-to Parisian for "vintage sound," scoring session work with Femi Kuti,-M-, and DJ Mehdi, among others, before leaving France in 1999 to relocate to the US.

Using his favorite keys, a computer and a mic, General Elektriks began as a musical journal that followed RV through his move from San Francisco to Seattle, then back to Berkeley, where he currently resides. It was in the Bay Area that he hooked up with the Quannum crew and started doing session work for them, and it was through Quannum that he also released the first GE record, 2005's Cliquety Kliqk. Described by URB as "Ennio Morricone for the 21st century," the album, which also featured appearances from Lateef The Truthspeaker and Chief Xcel, was a mix of vintage funk, hip-hop beats, noir riffs, cinematic arrangements, pop melodies and digital twinkle. And people caught on: besides a positive press response, "'Tu M'intrigues" was used in commercials for Mercedes-Benz's E Class and Ralph Lauren's Notorious perfume, while "Time to Undress" was played in Woody Allen's 2007 film, Cassandra's Dream.

After touring behind the album, Salters joined Blackalicious in the studio to work on their third full-length, 2005's The Craft, and also joined them on their accompanying tours. Concurrently, he formed the trio Honeycut with singer Bart Davenport and drummer/programmer Tony Sevener, and Quannum released their critically-acclaimed debut, The Day I Turned To Glass, in 2006. As he was touring with Honeycut and laying keys down for more artists (Lifesavas, Lyrics Born, Curumin, Jel, the Mighty Underdogs, to name a few), Salters started working on a second GE effort. Completed in the fall of 2008, Good City for Dreamers is a multi-dimensional, multi-cultural recording that puts the French expatriate in the growing ranks of artists who are citizens of the world, of artists whocreate sonic landscapes that feed as much on their origins as they do on their travels. It's RV's own take on psychedelia, one where future soul, old-school pop, sampling, indie rock, hip-hop and free jazz sparkle as they collide. - more on this story

Brim Liski EP Hits Today
This is Brim Liski. Happy depression. Electronic doom painted over with shimmering vocal layers and symphonic guitar tones. Self described by the producers as electrogaze dreamhop, perfect for endless night drives.

Complexly self-described as electrogaze dreamhop, painted over with shimmering vocal layers and symphonic guitar tones. Dark, limitless night music perfect for driving down an endless moon drenched highway.

Comprised of various producer conspirators in the US and The Netherlands, the project started in late 2008 and slowly but surely became an organic musical hydra. The debut release finds itself spanning eras of dark musical passages, poly-rhythmic dance beats and deep, moving bass lines all in which are inspired by the recent death of love, while also influenced by the blinding light of new beginnings.

The debut, self-titled EP will be released digitally November 10, 2009 via Latenight Weeknight Records - http://brimliski.com/

All Vets Asked to Boycott Good Morning America and ABC
(Submitted News) Joseph Sammartano, the former U.S. Army Policy Development and Training Officer whose designs are used today worldwide to counter terrorism and more, is now taking on the challenge to battle Goliath. He is asking all veterans and all AmeriCAN's to boycott GMA/ABC and all sponsors.

"I know why GMA ABC continues to use my trademark, Greed and ratings. No single brand, trademark or word can make all 300 million citizens react. Every person in the U.S. has a direct kinship with this word, and is perhaps the most recognized brand in the entire world by its name alone. I did not create, nor was I compensated or inspired to design the AmeriCAN trademark for any entertainment company, especially for their own good. It was created to help protect all people, inspiring students, parents and teachers through a not for profit organization.

D. Yellen of Ballon Stoll Bader & Nadler P.C. NY, Docket # Filed NYC Federal Court 09CV9318 Paragraph # 18 of the complaint states "The acquired mark of the defendant is so similar to the plaintiff as to be unquestionably be the product of a scheme of deliberate copy by the defendant. As such it is highly likely one or more of the defendants acted in concert, with knowing intent, of an illicit plan to infringe the exclusive rights of the plaintiff and of the AmeriCAN mark. Paragraph # 17 identifies direct infringement of the registration AmeriCAN mark". - more on this story
