Tony Lucca is an innately gifted singer/songwriter with a resume any musician would find gratifying. He's written and self- produced five studio albums, three EPs, several live recordings and a popular DVD. He's won the L.A. Music Award for Best Male Singer/Songwriter. He's performed with notable artists including pop icons NSYNC, Marc Anthony and Joss Stone, as well as indie favorites Josh Kelley, Jason Mraz and Bob Schneider. He's galvanized an international following and has sold out premier venues coast-to-coast, including Joe's Pub in New York and the Hotel Cafe in Los Angeles. Josh Hoge is from Nashville, TN and prides himself on the hard work and grass roots approach he takes to his music. He beats up the road touring 200 days a year and has toured with artists such as Marc Broussard, Elliott Yamin, Natasha Bedingfield, Matt Wertz and many more. He also has written songs for or been featured on albums by Blake Lewis, Lupe Fiasco, Backstreet Boys, Jesse McCartney, Matt Wertz, & Dave Barnes. "Don't Be A Jerk (It's Christmas)," destined to be an eternal holiday favorite going forward, is a song with a message, an important and timely message. As Tom Kenny, the comic actor who has voiced SpongeBob for the series' entire duration and sings SpongeBob's part on the song, puts it, "It's a plea is for a minimal diminishment of jerk-oriented activities and attitudes for a mere 24 hour period; in other words, "Don't Be A Jerk, (It's Christmas)." Kenny, who co-wrote "Don't Be A Jerk (It's Christmas)" with pop music veteran Andy Paley, continues, "Humankind seems to be entering a whole new era of 'jerkism' with politicians screaming at each other, sports figures throwing tantrums, self-indulgent entertainers making fools of themselves, and fame-seeking parents exploiting their kids -- one or eight at a time. The song addresses and decries that lack of civility in large and small ways. Logic says that -- with apologies to Charles Dickens -- if we have a ghost of a chance to succeed, it's going to be at this time of year. The idea is to start with Christmas and then, maybe, go on to deal with 'jerkitude' the other 364 days of the year."

This is the first Liars album to be recorded entirely in the USA since 2004's "They Were Wrong, So We Drowned" and sees Angus Andrew, Aaron Hemphill and Julian Gross taking inspiration from fringe characters lured to LA and the resulting subcultures and alternate spaces that they generate. "Sisterworld" is Liars' own space, completely devoid of influence, somewhere remote from the false promises and discarded dreams amassed in LA. In it Liars explore the underground support systems created to deal with loss of self to society.
