SPTimes.com reports: Scolded on national television
about his "anger mismanagement" problems, NBC's The Apprentice contestant
Chris Shelton lost his cool off camera in Tampa early Sunday and was arrested
and accused of disorderly conduct, authorities said.
The 22-year-old Nevada real estate investor
is among the six remaining contestants of the original 18 competing on
the show for a job with Donald Trump.
Shelton was arrested about 3:25 a.m. at
the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino at 5223 Orient Road. He posted
$250 bail less than eight hours later and was released, according to jail
records. Shelton could not be reached for comment. [see full story for

about it: UPN has given a vote of confidence to its buzzworthy but ratings-challenged
freshman drama "Veronica Mars" by handing the Warner Bros. TV series an
early renewal for a second season.

of "Veronica Mars" was an easy call, network president Dawn Ostroff said.

AP reports: Leading a parade of celebrity
witnesses who claimed they were stiffed by a speakers bureau, Andy Rooney
began his testimony Monday by questioning the wording of the oath to tell
the truth. The CBS newsman later got a lecture from the judge for trying
to interrogate a lawyer while on the witness stand.
"No, no, no, Mr. Rooney," said federal
Judge Colleen McMahon, her head in her hands. "The first rule is the witness
never gets to ask any questions ... even if he's a journalist."
Rooney was the first witness in the fraud
trial of Alan Walker, 67, who ran the Program Corp. of America, a firm

AP reports: Microsoft Corp. will offer video
game fans a first peek at the new version of its Xbox game console during
a half-hour MTV broadcast, part of a marketing deal.
The software maker will preview the new
game system in worldwide broadcasts on May 12 and May 13, on various MTV
channels.
During the broadcast, Microsoft also plans
to show off new enhancements planned for its Xbox Live online video game

AP reports: The average level of television
consumption increased on nearly every continent last year, but a new study
has found that Japanese viewers watch more TV than anybody.
The newly released report from Eurodata
TV Worldwide, the focus of a panel discussion at the MIPTV convention in
Cannes, also found Americans' daily dose of TV climbed by three minutes
last year to an average of four hours and 28 minutes -- nearly 90 minutes
above the world average.
The Japanese watched the most television
